HOW TO GET TO BONN


Travel by air

The closest airport is Cologne/Bonn with easy connections to Bonn.

To get to Bonn from the Cologne/Bonn Airport you can:

  • take a taxi: ca. DM 55,-- , 20-30 min.
  • take the bus : Bus 670 from the airport to the main train station in Bonn, (every 20 minutes, DM 8.30, 35-45 min)

    Alternatives are to fly to

    and commute by train to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) in Bonn. From there the easiest way to reach your hotel is by taxi.


    Travel by car

    Bonn is easy to reach by car and has good connections to the german motorway network. Please refer to the road map:


    Travel by train:

    Bonn has a mainstation (Bonn Hbf) and is on the Intercity network.


    Public transport in Bonn

    Bonn has an extensive tram and bus network. Please refer to the bus-, U-Bahn network (Liniennetzplan der U-Bahn, Busse).

    Participants can purchase discount tickets from the registration desk.

    If your hotel is in the Bonn region, a ticket for a whole day costs DM 2,40.


    How to get to "Wissenschaftszentrum"

    Underground:
    The nearest underground station from the Bonn Central Railway station to the Wissenschaftszentrum is 'Hochkreuz, Deutsches Museum' in the Godesberger Allee (lines 16, 63). Then walk down Kennedy-Allee/Avenue to Ahrstrasse (approximately 15 min.).

    Bus:
    The bus lines from the Bonn Central Railway station to the Wissenschaftszentrum are 614, stop 'Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft' or bus line 614, stop 'Kennedy Allee', both in Kennedy-Allee/Avenue. From there it is approximately a 5 min. walk to the conference centere.

    By car
    Parking in and around the conference centre is limited. It is recommended that deligates park in the Rheinaue. To take this public parking place take the Mittelstraße which is the next street after the Ahrstraße and turn at the intersection Kennedy-Allee/Mittelstraße to left (see the www-map...). Walking distance to the conference is approximately 15 minutes.
