The International Conference on Parallel Computing ParCo2019 is a continuation of the international conference on parallel computing and HPC started in 1983. Since their inception the ParCo conferences stimulated the development and application of parallel computers on a world-wide scale.

The conference aims to give participants multiple opportunities to meet and interact with fellow researchers. The high scientific standard of the conference presentations and the refereed proceedings are a hall-mark of ParCo.

ParCo2019 is organised by the non-profit foundation ParCo Conferences in cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics & Physics, Charles University and the Faculty of Information Technologies of the Czech Technical University.

Charles University was founded as a University in Prague by a charter issued on 7 April 1348 by Charles IV, King of Bohemia and King of the Romans. This is one of the oldest universities in the world. The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University was established in 1952 and since the 1970's it also includes the Computer Science Section.

In March 1803, Emperor František I signed a decree for establishing a Polytechnic Institute of the Czech Estates, based on the model of the École Polytechnique in Paris. The school eventually became the Czech Technical University (CTU). In 2010, the Faculty of Information Technologies (FIT) of CTU was founded by promoting one unit of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Prof. Pavel Tvrdik, a member of the Conference Committee and also the Organising Committee of ParCo2019, served as the first dean of FIT until 2017.

The conference will be located in a building of the Faculty of Mathematics & Physics, Charles University, at:
Professional House,
Malostranske nam. 25
118 00 Prague
Czech Republic

This site is in the historical centre of Prague, a few steps from Charles Bridge and close to the Prague Castle. The building, attached to St. Nicolas baroque church, one of the largest churches in Prague, was built as a professional house of the Jesuit order 300 years ago.
